Exams are priced from $139.00 to $159.00 and includes the proctor fee. Your exam will be scheduled according to your availability when registering.

Exam Description and Objectives 

Receiving a certification in fields such as Agriscience, Medical Administrative Assistant, Culinary Foundations, or Microsoft Educator confirms you possess the essential knowledge and hands-on skills required. Certification also provides an excellent way for career exploration in any of these fields while building your resume.  With this foundation, you are also well-positioned to pursue further training and stack additional industry-recognized credentials as you advance in your respective field.

Agriscience

Agriscience Foundations Exam

This exam certifies that a candidate has the essential knowledge and skills necessary to work professionally in an entry level position in the agriculture industry. Examinees will need to demonstrate essential skills and knowledge in the application of basic plant, animal, and soil science; food safety; agricultural safety and regulatory practices; record keeping/documentation; and an efficient and effective use of resources. 

For this exam, please expect  40-50 questions to complete within 50 minutes.

1. Health of Agricultural Systems

  1. Differentiate between healthy and unhealthy agricultural systems and habitats.

  2. Summarize basic Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices.

  3. Describe properties of healthy soil.

  4. Explain how water moves between the land, ocean, and atmosphere (e.g. the water cycle).

2. Using and Maintaining Industry Documents

  1. Maintain complete and accurate records.

3. Workplace Safety and Procedures

Medical Administrative Assistant Exam

The Health Sciences Careers - Medical Administrative Assistant certification confirms that a candidate possesses the essential knowledge and hands-on skills needed to work professionally as a medical administrative assistant. This certification supports early progression in the medical administration career pathway by establishing a strong foundation in core medical office operations. With this foundation, candidates are well-positioned to pursue further training and stack additional industry-recognized credentials as they advance in the medical administration field.

 

The exam consists of between 40 to 50 questions and candidates have a maximum of 50 minutes to complete.  The target candidate for this exam is a secondary or postsecondary student or career-ready adult seeking to prove their competency as an entry-level Medical Administrative Assistant. 

  

General Learning Objectives

1. Interpersonal Communication and Teamwork

  • Given a scenario with a patient issue, determine how to resolve or de-escalate the issue.

  • Given a scenario, determine when to report issues in the office.

2. Basic Healthcare Terminology

  • Identify the definition of terms for healthcare providers including but not limited to Pharmacist, Pediatrician, Psychiatrist, Behavioral Interventionist, Oncologist, Primary Care Physician, Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Practical Nurse/ Licensed Vocational Nurse, and Registered Nurse

  • Identify the definition of terms for standard precautions including but not limited to PPE, hand hygiene and biohazards.

 

3. Basic Billing Knowledge

  • Classify different payment sources including but not limited to billing, coding, payments, insurance, cash, and government assistance.

  • Identify important components of insurance cards including but not limited to group ID number, member ID number, and RX ID.

  • Identify the definitions of different billing terms.

4. Office Procedures

  • Given a patient call, determine the proper sequence of steps to make an appointment.

  • Given a scenario, identify the difference between emergent and non-emergent patients.

  • Identify required patient information including, but not limited to, ID, insurance, referrals, previous medical records, form of payment, and chosen pharmacy.

  • Determine how patient will pay for a visit including insurance coverage and private payment.

  • Given a scenario, identify which complies with HIPPA communication rules.

5. Medical Health Records and Patient Confidentiality

  • Identify the correct procedure for handling medical records requests.

  • Identify how to store, maintain, and transfer data securely.

  • Identify when and how to dispose of sensitive documents.

Culinary Foundations Exam

Certifying culinary skills with the World Association of Master Chefs

The World Association of Master Chefs - Culinary Foundations certification exam prepares candidates to start their journey in a professional kitchen as a cook. This certification is a part of the Hospitality and Culinary Arts Careers program and was developed with and sponsored by the World Association of Master Chefs, an organization created for culinary masters and professional chefs from around the world. In addition to validating understanding of sanitation and food safety principles, individuals who earn the World Association of Master Chefs - Culinary Foundations certification have the knowledge and skills that employers are looking for, such as set up procedures, food safety and sanitation, executing recipes, and time management in the kitchen.
